What’s it Worth? A Solo Art Show by Cameron Omega

What is the worth of a painting? Is it an investment, a feeling, an experience? To me art is not about money. It is about seeking of understanding. A hope for connection. A chance for the artist to reveal something about themselves and in turn, a chance for the viewer to learn something about themself. A internal exchange between the artist and the work, then the work to the viewer. In seeing something that inspires something in you, you gain something. From a small look into a side of yourself you rarely engage with or a moment of awe that widens your thinking. A chance to be seen and to see. For this show I wanted to ask what is the worth of a painting to you, the viewer. And in turn gain an understanding between the artist, the work, and the viewer.
